The ‘elevators’ feature – known from the Bahnhof live app – can now be used on bahnhof.de. Saving elevators and receiving push notifications about changes to the operating status of elevators offers greater accessibility when travelling, especially for passengers with restricted mobility.

The feature at a glance
Are you planning to travel by train or are you already travelling and want to know whether the lifts at the station are working?
It is already possible for users of bahnhof.de to see the presence of lifts at the station and their operating status on bahnhof.de. This information is important in order to better plan the barrier-free route to the desired platform.
It is now possible to make a note of particularly important lifts at the station and receive a push message directly on your smartphone at any time when their availability changes.
With our progressive web app (PWA) of bahnhof.de, you are always up to date. Receive an immediate notification on your smartphone when a lift is no longer working or can be used again after maintenance. The app is not available via the Apple AppStore nor the Google PlayStore, but can be installed easily and without indirect routes on your smartphone (see instruction article) and offers you many options for your journey:
Bookmark lifts
After calling up a desired station via the ‘Elevators’ card, all available elevators are displayed. Use the bookmark symbol to bookmark the relevant lifts and save them in the central bookmark list.
Receive push notifications
The ‘Notification of availability’ toggle is activated directly below, i.e. a push message is sent directly to the smartphone as soon as the operating status of the lift changes.
Manage lifts and push messages
All memorised elevators are grouped by station in the central watch list and the push messages can be activated or deactivated for each lift.
